Loop: Middletown - Franklin - Carlisle - Miamisburg - Moraine - W.Carrollton - Miamisburg - Franklin - Middletown.

DUE TO ONE-WAY STREETS, REVERSE-SEQUENCE RIDING REQUIRES ALTERNATE ROUTES.

Distance: approximately 42 miles (can be extended 6 to 10 miles, by following the bikeway north from East River to Carillon Park and downtown Dayton).

Terrain: mostly flat, with gently rolling profile and one substantial grade (downhill, if riding clockwise route) in Moraine.

Hazards: unsignalled mainline railroad crossing on Upper River Road (Miami Twp.) - stop, look, listen.

Stops: Food is available in Miamisburg and on the return leg in West Carrollton. Water and restrooms are available at Rice Field in Miamisburg and at the bikeway K Station in West Carrollton. There is a cyclery at 64 S.Main St. in Miamisburg.

Comments: The Moraine Mosey is a nearly flat tour following the Great Miami River from Middletown to Moraine and back. Most roads have light to moderate traffic; urban traffic is encountered in a few locations, but a potentially busy section in Moraine can be bypassed via the Sellars bridge stairway. The return segment of the tour follows the bikeway from Moraine to Miamisburg before returning to motor roads. Gentle grades, abundant shade, and convenient water and rest stops make this an attractive tour during hot weather.
