Loop:  Middletown - Springboro - Ridgeville - Oregonia - Morrow - Stubbs Mills - Lebanon - Middletown.  This itinerary can be ridden in reverse sequence.  There are three alternate routes in case it is desirable to shorten the distance or avoid some hills; it is possible to use either the second or the third alternate, but not both.

  1. Bikeway (Caesar Creek - Oregonia):  At Caesar Creek Access, from Corwin Rd. bear right onto the Little Miami Scenic Trail.  Follow the bikeway south to Oregonia Rd.  Then either continue on the bikeway, or turn right onto Oregonia Rd.
  2. Bikeway (Oregonia - Morrow):  At Oregonia (intersection of Corwin and Oregonia Rds.), turn south onto the Little Miami Scenic Trail.  Follow the bikeway southwest through Morrow, then turn right onto Stubbs Mills Rd. to resume return route.

  3. Morrow-Bypass Shortcut:  At Symmes Station (intersection of Waynesville, Oregonia, and Emmons Rds.), from Waynesville Rd. turn right (west) onto Oregonia Rd, and proceed to Lebanon.  At Lebanon, turn right onto SR-123, then right onto Mechanic St., and resume return route.

Distance:  approximately 60 miles, reducible to 45 miles with the shortcut.

FULL DISTANCE DATA ARE NOT YET COMPLETE FOR THIS ITINERARY.

Terrain:  mostly rolling to moderately hilly, including a few steep-but-short climbs with intermittent shade; essentially flat and mostly shady along the bikeway.

Hazards:  Lower Springboro Rd. crosses SR-48 on upgrade at blind curve in Ridgeville.

Stops:  During the warmer months, there are free water / restrooms in Morrow (at the bikeway rest station) and Lebanon (at the South St. I&O depot), and also in Corwin if you don't mind riding a bit out of your way.  (Corwin is on the bikeway, about three miles north of Caesar Creek Access.)  Food is available in Morrow, Lebanon, and Corwin.

Comments:  The Oregonia Orbit wanders through several communities in scenic Warren County.  Outside Middletown and Lebanon, all riding is in a rural setting.  The flat, shady bikeway option affords an extended break from hills and sun on a warm afternoon.
